CMC and ONS Present the 2020 Composer Lab Public Workshop

The CMC and the National Symphony Orchestra are thrilled to present the 2022 Composer Lab Public Workshop!

Join us on July 20 at the National Concert Hall for this public workshop of three new works in progress by Composer Lab participants Adam McCartney, Seán O’Dálaigh and Judith Ring, moderated by Mentor Composer David Fennessy.

This will be the first opportunity to hear these compositions in development animated by the National Symphony Orchestra under the direction of Gavin Maloney. Sections of each of the works of the three participating composers will be performed by the full orchestra during this intensive open rehearsal.

Digital scores of these new works by Composer Lab participants are now available for free download through CMC (see link below).

We encourage audience members to bring a device (laptop, tablet or Ipad, etc.) on which to view these scores for maximum engagement with the music during this workshop.

Composer Lab is a professional development initiative run in partnership by the National Symphony Orchestra and the Contemporary Music Centre, Ireland. As part of the Composer Lab program, composers receive mentorship from established composer David Fennessy and engage in an initial collaborative workshop with NSO section directors, followed by a public workshop and culminating in a final live performance of these works fully developed. the National Concert Hall for this workshop of three new works in progress by Composer Lab participants Adam McCartney, Seán O’Dálaigh and Judith Ring, led by Mentor Composer David Fennessy.
