Violinist Prabhakar Jog dies in Pune aged 88
Last Sunday was a very sad day for Indian classical music. Indeed, on October 31, the famous violinist Prabhakar Jog died. According to reports, he had been ill for a long time and was breathing his last breath at his home in Maharashtra at the age of 88. The news of his passing came as a big shock to the music industry and there is an outpouring of grief among singers. Singer Lata Mangeshkar is also on the list. He tweeted a tribute to Prabhakar Jog.
In her tweet, she wrote: “I am saddened to hear that the great violinist and musician Prabhakar Jog passed away today. May God rest his soul in peace. Tell everyone that Jog started playing the violin when concerts at the age of twelve because after the death of his father he needed money to run the house.He also worked as a musician Sudhir Phadke Kar as an assistant.He was one of great faces in the music world. He was instrumental in the music business.”
He has made valuable contributions to the world of music for almost six decades. However, he has composed music not only in Hindi but also in Marathi language. In fact, he has worked as a musician in films in many languages including Hindi, Marathi, and that’s why his relatives are very sad right now.
