The Heydar Aliyev Palace will host a concert on June 7 as part of the “Eternals” project.

The concert will feature unforgettable songs composed by popular artist Elza Ibrahimova.

Well-known musicians from Azerbaijan will perform at the concert. They will be accompanied by the Dan Ulduzu Instrumental Ensemble and the Gaytagi Ensemble.

Elza Ibrahimova composed her first song in 1969. Shovkat Alakbarova was the first performer of her song “Yalan ha deyil” composed on Mammad Rahim’s poem.

She was one of the composers who introduced the rhythm of tango into the art of variety. At first, some of his songs were not accepted by the Art Council in Soviet times. Elza Ibrahimova was told that the bourgeois harmony of tango did not correspond to the Soviet spirit.

But later, his songs which adopted the rhythm of tango were added to the list of the composer’s favorite songs.

Elza Ibrahimova composed the three-part concert for fortepiano and orchestra, romances, sonatas and quartets. She wrote music to hundreds of poems by Azerbaijani poets and dozens of poetic examples in Russian.
