Metal Gear Solid 5 Composer Death Stranding Has Left Kojima Productions
Ludvig Forssell, composer and audio director at Kojima Productions, said yesterday that he would be sharing some important news soon, and many assumed it was related to the announcement of a new game, especially with recent reports that the studio was about to reveal its next game. Forssell shared its important news, and it’s not a new game.
The Swedish composer announced via his Twitter page that after 10 years at Kojima Productions (the first five under Konami and the second five as an independent studio), he was leaving and pursuing a future as a freelance composer. Forssell has played a pivotal role in many of Kojima Productions’ biggest projects during his tenure at the studio, including Metal Gear Solid 5: Ground Zeroes, Metal Gear Solid 5: The Phantom Pain, PT, and more recently, Death Stranding.
Meanwhile, an announcement of the next game from Kojima Productions could still be announced in the near future. The studio’s art director, Yoji Shinkawa, recently said that the developer’s second draft could be revealed “very soon”.
After 10 years of working in-house as a composer/audio director at Kojima Productions, I’m thrilled to announce that I will be pursuing my future as a freelance composer.
It was great! Thank you, KJP! Now I’m happy to tackle a variety of projects in all types of media. pic.twitter.com/tXWh2ibh12
